Nursing Services

 

School Nurse: Rebecca Chavez, RN & Breanna Hill, RN(floater nurse). 

Rebecca Chavez is the school nurse for  Kettering Elementary, Gompers Elementary and Tincher Prep.

Our Senior Health Assistant is Johanna Lopez, LVN. 


Nurse Chavez's Schedule:

Kettering Elementary Wednesdays 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
Gompers Elementary Monday - Tuesday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Tincher Prep Thursday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

 

Senior Health Assistant Lopez's Schedule:

Kettering Elementary Monday - Tuesday 9:00 am - 1:45 pm
  Thursday -Friday 9:00 am - 1:45 pm

Students should stay home if they have:

COVID Like Symptoms:

Which Include-

●Fever 100.4 or Chills

●Cough

●Shortness of Breath or Difficulty Breathing    

●Muscle or Body Aches

●New Loss of Smell or Taste

●Sore Throat

●Congestion or Runny Nose

●Nausea, Vomiting or Diarrhea

 

 

Other symptoms to stay home for include:
• Sores that are open or appear infected
• Any suspicious rashes
• Persistent headache, stomach ache or earache
• Red eyes with discharge
• Live head lice

The ill student CANNOT return to school until he/she has met ONE of the following requirements (regardless of vaccination status or history of COVID):

1. If the student does not get tested for COVID, then the student MUST complete 10 days of isolation (from the time symptoms first appeared).

2. Student has tested negative for COVID AND 24 hours have passed without a fever (or fever reducing medication) AND symptoms have resolved.➔NO copy of negative test result required.

3. If the student tests positive for COVID, then the student MUST complete5-10 days of isolation from the time symptoms first began.

4. A healthcare provider has provided documentation that the symptoms are typical of an underlying chronic health condition (e.g. allergies or asthma) OR a healthcare provider has confirmed an alternative named diagnosis (e.g. Streptococcal pharyngitis). ATTACH a copy of doctor’s note

requires a note from a physician.
